PORT CHALMERS. Arrived. —Hinemoa (4.10 p.m.), from northern lighthouses. ATHENIC’S SAILING DATE. The Athenic sailed yesterday for Auckland. She is to leave the northern port on March 31 and is due here on April 1 2. Her departure for Southampton and London has been postponed until April 9. HORORATA SAILS TUESDAY. The departure of the New Zealand Shipping; Company’s liner Hororata for London has been postponed until Tuesday. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER’S ALTERED MOVEMENTS. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company, local agents for the Canadian Government Line, advises that the Canadian Highlander will not now visit Lyttelton. She will tranship her cargo for southconsisting mainly of transhipments—here, and sail about Wednesday for Auckland. She will load nt the northern port and sail direct for Vancouver. PORT PLRIE LEAVES COLON. The C and D. Line have received cable advice that the Port Pirie, bound from London to New Zealand ports, left Colon on Thursday for Auckland, where she is due on April 11. She will then visit Wellington and New Plymouth. SHORTAGE OF LABOUR AT NAPIER. A fairly serious shortage of labour iS being felt at Napier at present. Tliera are three overseas vessels loading there'— the Port Melbourne. Norman Star, and Viking Star, and in addition the Ngatoro discharging coal, and the Kamona. from south, are in port. As a result of this shortage the date << the Port Melbourne’s arrival here is indefinite. ALEXA WITH HARDWOOD. It is reported that the barquentins Alexa left Grafton River yesterday or on Wednesday with a cargo of hardwood for discharge here. The vessd will come to the agency of Messrs. G. T. Hull and Company.
CANADIAN WINNER’S MOVEMENTS. The Canadian Winner should leave Auckland on Monday for Napier and Lyttelton. She is due at the latter port today week and will sail for Vancouver direct from the southern port. RAMA from: CHATHAMS. Mr. E. G. F. Zohrab advises that ths Rama is expected here on Monday from the Chatham Islands. He hopes to dispatch her the same day for Lyttelton, from which port she will sail for tho Chathams. CARGO FROM CALCUTTA. The Union Company’s steamer Waihor* is at present loading at Calcutta for New Zealand ports. The vessel should sail within a week or so, and will not call at either Singapore or Samarang on th* outward voyage, but will make Townsville her first port. From Townsville she will come to Auckland. YSABEL FROM BAN FRANCISCO. The barouentlne Ysabel is now 49 days out from San Francisco, where she loaded fat Wellington. She is one of the Scale* fleet and is expected here towards ths end of the month. v PAKEHA FOR LONDON. The S.S and A. liner Pakeha is th sail on Monday afternoon for London. MANUKA DUE ON MONDAY. The Manuka, which left Sydney at It a.m. on Thursday, has 376 passengers on board, and is due here on Monday. She will sail for Lyttelton on Tuesday, re» turning to sail for Sydney on Thursday. Neither the Arahura nor the Maori will take cargo from here next Thursday owing to the Easter holidays. The Wootton is due on Tuesday from Lyttelton, and will return to the southern port the following day. The Garbeta is to sail on Monday fo« Newcastle, where she is fixed to load fo» New Zealand. The Corinna is to sail for Dunedin, Oamaru. and Timaru on Monday. Shj will then go to Lyttelton, Nelson, ana New Plymouth. . , . , . The Huia sailed last night for Picton to load for Wanganui- She is duo hero from the latter port on Tuesday and will probably sail lon Wednesday for Wa--11 The 11 Karamu arrived yesterday from Greymouth and should return to that port on Tuesday. The Rona will not sail for Newcastla before Monday. The 8.1. steamer Gorala, due from Port Arthur (Tex) and Orleans, via Lyttelton, on Monday, has sulphate of zinc for discharge here. She will later visit Sydney* Adelaide, and Fremantle. The Wanaka is due to-day week irom Whangarei and Napier. She will have cement for discharge. From here she is to go to Timaru, Oamaru. and Bluff. Mr. G. Sinclair, until lately a member of the crew of the Hinemoa, is ta take up his duties as assistant light-house-keeper at Akaroa. The Kennedy is to sail on Monday for Tarakohe to load cement for Wanganui. The haroue Raupo arrived at Newcastle from Wellington on Thursday and will load there for Wellington -team. The Maindv Lode-s should sail from New Plymouth on Monday for Newcastle. It is not known here if she will load ap-in for New Zealand. The Arahura left Wellington a.t noon yesterday for Picton. The vessel arrived back at Wellington late last night, and will sail from here at 1.30 p.m. to-dav for Nelson direct. .The Mapourika left! Wellington at her usual hour last night for Nelson.
