Thia train stops at Opaki and will arrive in plenty of time for tne first event. Racing will commence with the Jumpers’ Flat Handicap, one mile and. a quarter. The Kemba.ll stables will be represented by Mill o’ Gnwrie and Lord Nagar, and, if at anything like her best form the top-Weight would be a class above the others. However, she has been spelling and may be all tne better for a race. Fisher and O’Rane have also been spelling, but the last-named has been galloping well since he came in. ■ Ho may find Maniahera a. very formid- | ablo opponent. . : There aro a couple of two-year-olds m the Trial Handicap, viz.. Sunny Vale and Merry Day. Horses of this age have a big pull in tho weights and should be able to account for tho others Chimera has a very big weight in the Flying Handicap, six furlongs but she is a much better class thnn the ethers, and may go out favourite. In the past Chimera has run some of her best races on this course. The long straight on the Opaki course will suit Red Ribbon, the ton-weight is meeting, the rest of the field mi most advantageous terms. Johnny Walker has been galloping well, at Trantham, but the Martinn gelding is not a good mount for ?. light rider. . Kilreid may be a hot order in the Juvenile Handicap, but there will be plenty of support for Doucement. who la reported to be verv smart in private. Klldee and Fortune Teller are unlikely starters in the seven furlongs hack race, ns both have been paid nn for in the Dash Handicap, five furlongs. Elcullus Is very smart over fieven furlongs, nna mav be favourite, but The Diffjfer. who ha< n bit? null in the weights, is ontitled to consideration on Woodville form, while Silk Rein also gallons well nn the tr-Hm and has a very light weight. If Rindlc is produced in the Stewards’ TTanrilcnn ho will have n. big following, but if the tracks are hard he may bo loft in his box. Little River goes seven furlongs well, and in the absence of TUndlc may bo favourite. Th- Dash Hnndicrn will be a good hety n „ rilr . P M several of Hm runnf’-s are fn.irlv sm-rrl over Ihi’ distance. If s he draw, a onnd marble Kiklee mav ho the pcfiirl favourite. It was stated yoßtor-lnv oq the -ipihor. of an exchonro Ihaf. the O* the card wish t'-e draw on it fm- •’m Karan "-nl>-'Vo irnndimm on tho onorinn. day of tho Ohi”m-nr> 'fc'.liTi'’ mm! 4 -'’ in the .fart-r barine to go before the rfoward. ■'•’’mi b- w-- onntion»d H i’" rn ,.of r 1 in 11'0 future. that the card handed to him was ine.qrrectly marked, and he placed the horses ae they stood on the card. His explanation of this position was, he states, accepted as satisfactory.
