SLEEPING SICKNESS

PROVED TO BE INFECTIOUS.

Stockholm, March 17.

Dr. Kling, head of the S'tate Bacteriological Laboratory, has reported that he has discovered, after fifteen months’ research, the sleeping sickness microbe, and has finally established the fact that the disease is infectious. Dr. Kling succeeded in inoculating rabbits with the disease by transplanting the brain matter of deceased persons found to have contagious matter in secretions from diseased throats and noses, and in evacuations. —Reuter.
