SINN FEINERS EXECUTED AT MOUNT. JOY PRISON BUSINESS IN DUBLIN AT A STANDSTILL By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright-London, March 14. During the executions of six Sinn Feiners an armoured car was stationed outside Mountjoy Prison, and an aeroplane circled overhead from dawn. Tho condemned men walked to the scaffold unaided.
A notice was subsequently posted outside the gaol, stating that the executions had been duly carried out. There was 4i profound silence among the crowd for several minutes afterwards. Business was at a standstill in Dublin as a sign of mourning for the six executed men. Thousands knelt outside Mountjoy Prison praying during the executions. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SENSATIONAL TRIAL AT EDINBURGH SIXTEEN SINN FETNERS CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY. (Rec. March 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 14. A sensational trial is pi-oceeding at Edinburgh of sixteen Sinn Feiners, including Jean Quinn, a young girl, on a charge of conspiracy to endanger life and property by means of explosives. The prisoners were manacled in threes while in the dock. The public were admitted to the courthouse by ticket. Tho evidence showed that explosives of high power, intended to destroy bridges and railways, were stored in Jean Quinn's room. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. TRAIN - ATTACKED AUXILIARY SHOT DEAD. London, March 14. Sinn Feiners attacked a train at Ardfert station, which was conveying a party of auxiliaries. The driver was wounded in tho head, and an auxiliary named Falkiner was shot dead. The driver was then ordered to start, and finisheil the journey to Tralee at high speed. The driver collapsed on reaching Tralee. Many of the passengers had remarkable escapes.—Aus.-N.Z.
