STAFF PICNIC

The second annual staff picnic of the Dominion Mercantile Agency, Ltd., was held at Mungaroa on Thursday. The party, numbering about 20. proceeded hy train to the Upper Hutt, where they •were met by cars and conveyed to a particularly pretty soot on the banks of the Hutt River. After an early lunch the usual games were enjoyed, but these were soon deserted for the more attractive pastime of blackberrying. Bankets and tins brought for the purpose were soon filled ■with large ripe berries which were particularly plentiful, and in parts hung like bunches of graper. from the bushes. The beauty and freshness of the scenery, combined with bright weather, made the dav’s outing a very hapoy one. rhe party eventually returned by the 6 p.m. train.
