RUGBY FOOTBALL
’a new club.
Mr. D. M'Kenzie presided over a meeting held in the Thornrlon Methodist Church on Friday evening, in connection with the Methodist Bible Class Union of Wellington. Then? was an attendance of thirty lads and it was decided to form a Rusby football club, to affiliate with the Wellington Rugby Union, nnd to enter teams for the fourth and fifth-class championships. Officers , rpre ntortod as follow:—President, the Rev E Drake: vice-presidents. Mews. J. Hill D V. Wilson, G. Flaws, J. Raine, nnd F. Chinchen; ‘club rnptoin. D. M'Kenzie; hon. secretary, H. H. Lowe; hon. treasurer. W. Rev Hill; managernent committee. L. Swift. R. Borrell. E. Dalmar, and Watson. It was decided to cnll the club the We’ley Club, and to register the colours as purple and white.
