Before the Supreme Council, Herr M. Mayra, the Austrian Chancellor, described the economic difficulties of Austria, and pleaded for a comprehensive scheme of assistance. Mr. Lloyd George expressed'sympathy and invited the delegates, together with financial experts, to meet Mr. Austen Chamberlain. As an outcome of a later conference, the Allied experts promised to present to their respective Governments suggestions whereby Austria might ■ be effectively assisted.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
