LIGHT ON LUBRICATION

Nearly four years ago the Advisory Council of the British Department of Scientific and Industrial Research formed a. committee to organise research into the subject of lubricants and lubrication. The final report of this committee has now been issued in a volume which contains the results of a very exhaustive process of study and experiment. It. follows up*n five interior reports and several bulletins dealing with special aspects of the subject. In t'he near future ft bibliography of lubricants and lubrication will be completed. The work of this committee is regarded as of the utmost, value to all engineers. A programme of further research relating particularly to t'he chemistory and physical properties of lubricants, has been drawn up.
