FOUR-MASTED SCHOONER SIGHTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, February 27. The lighthouse-keeper at Cape Mana van Diemen reports that a four-masted sclmoner passed from west to east at 1 P-m. yesterday. MANUKA DUE THIS EVENING. According to a wireless message received last night by the Union Con }P“" y ’A l l e Manuka is due in the stream from Sydney nt 6 o’clock to-night. She is to berth at No. 1 Queen’s Wharf. MAKURA AND NIAGARA. The Makura, which has been held up in Sydney is due at Auckland on Thursday. She should leave the northern port on March 8 for Suva, Honolulu, and VanThe Niagara is expected at Auckland on Thursday, and is to sail for Vancouver on March 5. OVERDUE SCHOONER ARRIVES. The Secretary of’the General Post Office received the following telecrnm from the Awanui wireless station: —“8.5 p.m.: Suva has broadcasted the following warning: Four-masted schooner Alumna, bound Melbourne to Nukualofa. 59 days out. Ships keep look-out and report.” » . A later message received by tho Post office states that, the Alumna, arrived at her destination on Saturday.
RIMUTAKA AND KUMARAARRIVE The Rimutaka. from Auckland, and the Kumara. from Napier, both arrived in port on Saturday, and were moored in the stream. On account of the waterfront trouble the departures of both vessols are indefinite.
’ADMIRAL CODRINGTON FOR WELLINGTON. Tho Poverty Bay Farmers' Meat Company’s steamer Admiral Codrington left Albany (AVest Australia) about I'ebruary 10 for Sydney. After picking up a quantity of coal at the latter port, she sailed for Wellington, where she will discharge half of her cargo, and then go to Auckland to complete unloading. She is due hero on Wednesday.
MABAMA IN PORT. Tho R.M.S. Marama arrived shortly before four o'clock yesterday afternoon and berthed at 7.30 p.m. at No. 4 Queen'i Wharf. The Canadian Importer, from the . Coast (St. John) via Panama, is duo in Sydney early in April, followed bj the Canadian Planter about a month later. It is the intention of the Canadian Gov ernment Merchant Marine, Ltd. to maintain a monthly service between Austra lia and the Pacific Coast, and also the Canadian-Atlantic Coast, a. monthlj intervals both ways.
