The first and second-lclasH races set down for Saturday were abandoned. A flat calm camo after the southerlv breeze, and none' of the yachts finished the course before 7 p.m.. the time limit. Tho race for the Olark and. Morris trophy nttracte dthree entries—Geishn.. Tiri. and Nan. The latter is the holder of the Inter-club Chamntonshin Cun. Tiri was outclassed throughout the race, which took nlace round n course from Clvde wuay Wh.irf. round Jerninpham Buov. round a buoy off Kalwnrra. and hack to a lfr>e between tho south end of Queen s Wharf and Clvde Ouav Wharf. Nan and Geisha had a spirited so. and on the windward wore ’rom Ralwarra home were on challenging terms with one another all the time. On Uinliea thev snlit tacks. Geisha gradually fmnrove<> her position, and won comfortablv. Geisha. 1: Nan. 2: liri. 5. V>- Roberta is having a fonrtccn-footer built, nnrt rumour ha; it that nt. le. st three of this rlnss will be built during the winter. Tills should mean spirited racins in this class next year.
