FIELD DAY DEMONSTRATION

BOY SCOUTS’ ACTIVITIES. One of the largest musters of Boy Scouts yet witnessed in the Hutt t alley was that held on the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, the occasion |emg a field day and demonstration for the purnose of determining- which troops should hold the various trophies allotted to the Wellineton Province for the ensuing twelve months. Headed by the . sc^L t ’ the narade consisted of about do vs, under the command of District Commander Mason, marched from the Hutt station to the recreation ground. A -large crowd of ■ spectators was present at the demonstration. Among were Colonel G. F. C. Campbell and the Dominion Chief Commissioner. Contain Cosserove. The latter, who has just re-> turned from a visit in connection with the m*vement to the Manawatu and Wairarana districts, expressed pleasure at tne excellent standard of the turn out, and the efficiency of the troops. Richardson sicrnllinc (Moorhouse Cun). Mr. G. Pettltt. firemen's competition. Cant. Sim and Lieut. Dornn: band events. Mr. G. Watson, march nast. role drill, and parade nrelighting. Cant. Cossgrove. Mr. Lambert waw responsible for the secretarial work. The Wellincton Banner, for the most points in physical drill and marching goes to the Kelburn and St. Paul’s troons. the latter of whom have been the holders for the past three years. St. Augustine s Troop (Petone) annexed the Rhodes cup (ambulance), while the Moorhouse pup (semaphore signalling and fire lientin,) will also find a home in the club room of tho same troop.
