Sailed.—Maori (8.20 p.m.), for Wellington. RUAPEHU TO CALL AT WELLINGTON. Tho New Zealand Shipping 00. advise that the Ruapehu will make Wellington her first port of call. She is due here, about March 6, and will disembark North Island passengers. She will then sail for Lyttelton to disembark South Island passengers, and commence discharge. PORT HACKING DUE TO-MORROW. The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Hacking is due to-morrow from Napier. The Port Hacking has New York cargo for discharge, but will be held up until the waterfront trouble is settled. TASMANIA LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Coming to the agency of the Federal Line, the Tasmania left Liverpool on February 20 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about April 5, and should be in Wellington a week later. The Tasmania is a vessel of 7614 tons, and was built at Flensburg in 1913. She was commandeered at the outbreak of war, and lias been cargo carrying, under the direction of the Shipping Controller, She was recently purchased by the New Zealand Shipping Company. OTIRA FROM ST. JOHN. The Otira left St. John for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers on Tuesday last, and is expected at tho northern port about April 3. She should be in Wellington a week or ten days later. WILTSHIRE FROM LIVERPOOL. The Wiltshire left Liverpool on February 5, bound for Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. She is due at Sydney about March 24. MANUKA DUE MONDAI. The Union Company's steamer Manuka is due on Monday from Sydney. She cleared the New South Wales port at 11 a.m. on Thursday with 400 passengers aboard. The present intention is to dispatch the vessel on the return trip to Sydney on Thursday next. KUMARA FROM NAPIER. The S.S. and A. liner Kumara is expected in port to-day from Napier to complete Homeward loading. On account of the position on the waterfront her departure for London is indefinite. MARAMA FROM SYDNEY. The Marama is due from Sydney tomorrow. Her departure for Sa.n Francisco via Barotongra and Tahiti is indefinite, but it is hoped to dispatch her on Tuesday. ZHA.LANI>IO’S MOVEMENTS. The S.S. and A. liner Zealandic is expected to leave Wanganui on Tuesday tor Wellington. She will make this her final port, but on account of the waterside dispute her final departure is indefinite* BUSY PERIOD AT NAPIER. Tho trade of Napier and Hawke’s Bay generally will before long have regained its pre-war standard, if the present indications are reliable (states an exchange of Wednesday’s date). During the week ending to-day six large oversea steamers will have arrived at Napier, either to load frozen meat and wool or to discharge case oil and general cargo from America. Within the week between 80,000 and 90’,000 freight carcasses of frozen meat and 7000 bales of wool, besides tallow, hemp, etc., will have been shipped from the district. Early next month the Malmo a, Rimutaka, and Port Melbourne are due for Homeward loading of wool and meat, and in April the Kia Ora will also visit the port. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain D. M'Donald. who brought the Ramornie to Lyttelton, is at present relieving Captain Pearson of the Opihi, who has gone on holiday. Captain Woods, late chief officer of the Orepuki, has taken command of the Ramornie. . Mr. D. M’Millan has joined the Kaitangata as third mate, vice Mr. A. Anderson - . Mr. W. H. Mayo, third engineer of the Mapourika. has left that vessel. Mr. H. F. Harman, wireless operator of tho Kaitangata, has left that vessel, Mr. 11. R. Robinson joining in his stead. Mr. D. M'lntyre, chief engineer of the Tutanckai. has come ashore.
The following steamers were expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations last night:—Awanui — Shahristan, Marama, Canadian Prospector, Sonoma, Manuka, Port Melbourne. Auckland —Norman Star, Langton Hall, Kaituna. Wellington—Maori, Wahine, Mapourika, Arahura, Port Hacking. Moana, Otarama, Kaitanpata, Kumara, Rimutaka, Zealandic, Durham, Somerset. Awarua— Paloona. The Ngahere is to load shortly at Newcastle for Lyttelton. The Kakapo will not come to Wellington now, but from Greymouth will proceed to Lyttelton. The West Camargo is due here on Wednesday- from Napier. The Ngatoro will load at Grcymquth abut Monday tor Wellington or Napier. A wtrcicßß message received by the C. and D. Line states that the Port Melbourne will arrive at Lyttelton on Monday trom Sydney. The Rama arrived last night at Lyttelton from Chatham Islands, and is expected to return to Waitangi to-day to loud another shipment of sheep for Lyttelton.

The Koromiko has been placed in dry dock at P t ort Chalmers for repairs la connection with her overhaul. She will b® followed In dock by the Cape Colony anA the Waiotapu, both of which steamers ar® also undergoing overhaul and About 9 o’clock on Wednesday (says th® Christchurch "Sun") a fire occurred in th® lamp-room, underneath the navigating bridge of the Union Company’s steam et KlnU which is discharging timber at No. 7 jetty A. M'Don aid, the watchman, on going into the lamp-room to get out the lamps discovered the outbreak, which he succeeded in extinguishing with a few buckets of water. With the exception of tho scorching: of the paint in the lamproom, a portion of the bridge, and & lifebelt, no other damage was done. . According to an exchange some anxiety 1a beintr felt for the schooner John and Winthrop, which left Lyttelton on the mnrnine of February 1 for Greymouth, and has not been heard of since. Ships -masters bare been tastruoted to keen a sharp look-out for the vessel. The Job* and Winthron i« to load timber at Greymouth for Sydney.
