THE WEATHER

FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, veering to westerlies northwards of New , Plymouth, Napier, and westerly to northerly winds increasing elsewhere. Weather fair generally, ami becoming much warmer in the eastern districts, but an atmospheric depression apparently developing to the westward is likely to bring a change shortly, especially in and southward of Cook Strait. Au anti-cyclone han dominated, and tile weather has been fair to cloudy generally, but showers have been reported in the western and southernmost districts.
