CLAIM! FOR COMPENSATION

In tho Arbitration Court, Lilian Brinsley claimed £520 compensation for the death of her husband from the Hikurangi Coal Company. Brinsley, when using a track alongside the railway line, was struck by an engine. The Court found that although the railway line was habitually used as a means of access to mine workings, there was no necessity to use it, and gave judgment for defendant Leave was reserved to apply for costs.
