MR. NOSWORTHY AT DARGAVILLE

The Hon. W. N'osworthy and party arrived at Dargaville yesterday after-' noon, and were received by the Mayor. Mayoress, and others. Last night a civic reception was tendered the Minister. Deputations asked for the Kai Iwi Lake's reservation of 1800 acres; that no dead trees' be allowed to be taken from Trounson’s Park, lately taken over' by the Government; for the opening up of the J’ekapekarua block for soldiers; tor tne appointment of a veterinary surgeon for the district; for assistance in respect to country cattle departments; and for aii experimental farm. Mr. Nosworthy replied that the best idea for an experimental farm was that a farmer should give the land. 11m Government could then give £3OO a year subsidy for seeds, manures, etc., as was being done at Stratford and Manaia. The Government would do the same for Dargaville. The requests of the deputation would be looked into. The Minister received a hearty vote of thanks. The Ministerial party, accompanied by the Mayor and Mayoress, left early this morning to inspect Trounson’s Park. The party leaves for Whangarei this afternoon.
