DRAPERS AND CLOTHIERS’ FEDERATION

The New Zealand Federation of Drapers and Clothiers had their -first annual meeting to-day, Mr. J. Rennell (Auckland) presiding. Officers elected were:— 'President, Mr. Rennell; vice-president, Mr. E. IL Wyles (Christchurch); member of Advisory Board. Mr. W. Simm (Wellington); auditor, Mr. M. E. Nicholls (Wellington). It was resolved, “That this conference affirms the desirability of closer co-opera-kion ' between employer and employee and the inauguration among members of a systematic course of instruction to enable greater efficiency among junior members of the staff.”

It was also resolved, “That the proposal that the Government he asked to institute a postage cash -on-deli very system be referred back to the local associations for consideration.”
