MR; MASSEY IN THE SOUTH
A BUSY DAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, February 15. Mr. Massey had an extremely busy time to-day visiting different.' parts of North Canterbury. Nearly 150 miles were covered on the tour, and at every township and settlement there were demonstrations of appreciarion. Short addresses were delivered by Mr. Massey at several places, but he broke no new ground. He will leave for the West Const by special train to-morrow. WESTPORT ARRANGES CORDIAL RECEPTION. Bv Telvarn-'' n-„.„ -delation. Westport, February 15. At. a public meeting, presided over by the Mayor (Mr. Menzies) ,to-night, it was resolved to urge Mr. Massey to extend his stav at Westport in view of the Government’s legislation last session taking over the Westport 'Harbour Board in April. The meeting was very enthusiastic, and made preliminary arrangements for giving ths Prime Minister a very cordial reception. The hope was expressed that he would spare sufficient time for a run all round the district.
