THE WEATHER

FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for variable winds, strong easterlies prevailing northward of North Cape and Kawhia, and north-west to south-west winds elsewhere. Expect warm and hazy conditions with increasing cloudiness for a change to follow, with rain and colder weather shortly. Barometer unsteady, but rising in the south in about thirty hours. Atmospheric pressure has proved unsteady, with a falling tendency. Warm and fair weather has been experienced generally, but it has rained north ot Auckland.
