MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M., held a short sitting of the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday morning. . An old man mimed Frederick Lyness was sent to g.tol for three months for being an incorrigible rogue in that .he possessed insufficient lawful means of support. Sub-Inspector AVillis explained that the man had been in the Ohiro Home, but would not stay there, and the authorities would not have hint back because he was too great a nuisance. They could not have the old man wandering about the streets. The Magistrate had no option but to send him to g.aol. There were 132 previous convictions •against Lyness. . Allan Edward Barron was charged with stealing a bicycle value Jll5, at Auckland the property of Charles Thomas Sluiw. On the application of Chief-De-iective AVard, he was remanded to appear tit Auckland on February 16. A remand to February 1.6 was also granted in the case of James David Stancombe, who was charged with forging •i cheque for JEIO on the Bank of New Zeal And, purporting (lie cheque to have been signed by A. Hamilton.
