HOMING PIGEONS

Tho following are the results of races flown by members of the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society:— Auckland. No. 2 Race. 508 miles: 28 birds competing from 11 lofts; the wenther was fine, with strong south-west wind.— G. Geary (9hr. 52min. 50sec.), 1: J. IL Clark (10-17-7). 2:. O. Dreyer (10-18-22). 3; Hoare Bros. (10-18-25). 4; M. G. Grenside (10-18-35). 5; G. H. Wilson (11-56-32). 6. Dunedin Race: 377 miles: 8 lofts. 25 birds. No arrivals on tho day of liberation.—H. H. Lippitt (4hr. 31min. 16sec. а. second day). 1: R. Hastic (5-37-15 a.m. second day). 2: G. H. Wilson (5-57-19 a.m. second day). 3: G. Geary <6-17-41 a.m. second day). 4; J. Bruce <7-31-541 a.m. second day). 5: J. H. Clark (7-53-8 a.m. second day). 6. Auckland Race, 308 miles. This was a very hard race, the birds having to taco a strong head wind all the way. Result: J. H. Clark (lOhr. 33mfn. 50sec.). 1: H. H. Lippitt (10-34-4). 2: G. H. Wilson (10-34-12). 3: J. Bolton (10-35-17), 4; G. W. Geary (10-49-18), 5. Invercargill Race. 4765 miles.—H. H. Ltppitt (12hr. 52min. 29sec. p.m. second day), 1: G. W. Geary (12-52-37 p.m. second day), 2: G. H. Wilson (12-54-19 p.m. second day), 3; J. H. Clark (2-10-49 p.m. second day). 4. Half-Moon Bay Race, 510 miles. This race was restricted to one bird from each loft. Eight members competed. The birds nut up a really fine performance, being liberated at 4.15 iT.m., and homing at б. the following morning. The weather was ideal. Result: H. 11. Lippitt (6hr. 31min.
