GOLF
(Rec. February 13, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 11. The Ladies’ Golf Union has- adopted a system of basing 'bogey scores on the length of holes as the only way of standardising handicaps. Australian and New Zealand* experience was cited in favour of the method. It has also been decided to recognise plus handicaps. It is understood in golfing circles that Varden and Ray are not likely to accept an Invitation to visit Australia, but it is believed' that Braid and Tom Ferme, the Scottish golf champion, are not adverse to visiting the Commonwealth if they receive a satisfactory invitation.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
