[The executive of the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen sent the Government a peremptory demand for inquiry, otherwise the men would strike on Tuesday, alleging that some of their members had been killed and wounded. The military inquiry into the shooting of railwaymen at Mallow, after adjourning for five days while relatives of the deceased vainly endeavoured to proctirj evidence, returned a verdict of murder against persons unknown. The executive of the National Union of Railwaymen decided.to instruct Mr. Thomas, M.P., at the reassembly of Parliament to demand a full inquiry into the shooting at Mallow of Captain King and the whole question of the government of Ireland by the Crown forces. Mr. Thomas made a statement after the shootings that the National Union of Railwaymen had requested an investigation, but Sir Hamar Greenwood hitherto had not replied. The whole question of Ireland demanded a public inquiry. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FURTHER OUTRAGES POLICE BARRACKS ATTACKED. (Rec. February 13, 115 p.m.) London, February 12. A hundred armed men fired on a military train between* Mallow and Tralee. One soldier was killed and several were wounded. A party of Sinn Feiners, estimated to number 300, attacked the police barracks at Drimoleague at midnight with rifles and bombs. A relieving party of Auxiliaries was summoned from Dunmanway. Finding that the attackers had escaped, they immediately called out from bed all males in* the town and forced them at the revolver’s point to repair the damage to the barracks and adjoiniug buildings. —Aus.-N.Z.
