In baiasates “Spanish Dances,” beautiful works, Master Dubowski infused great feeling and aroused the audience to n high nitch Of enthusiasm. One of the most Popular works on a programme of gems was Kreisler’s “Caprice Viennois. this splendid piece, indicating the musical depths of the composer m its every note, is perfectly suited to tho violin, as its composer, 'Fritz Kreisler, the famous Austrian composer intended it to be. Tn the opening tho difficult runs, and the obbligatos, young Lubowski excelled, He played tho motif rather too slowly, but nevertheless infused into the work much deeper feeling than any had received at his last concert. Massenet’s beautiful .“Meditation," from the opera “Thais.” won vociferous applause front the audience, and here again the violinist surprised those who had heard his opening concert for the remarkable interpretation of tho delightful piece. As an example of difficult pizzicato and bowing, uLbowski chose Bazzini’s “Rondo of the Goblins,” and made it a great success. This work, written in a difficult key, is recognised as a stumbling block to many great violinists, but never once in the whole work did tho young performer make a mistake. Double-harmonics, left-hand picking in pizzicato passages were no trouble to him, and a perfect burst of applause followed him from the stage. Two popular pieces were Drdla’s "Serenade” and the evergreen "Intermezzo" from "C'iivalleria Rusticana.* and as encores Lubowski played his favourite Polish melody, "Kuiawiak” (Wieniawski), and "Hejre Knti” by Hubay, both of which pieces wore played at his first concert. Wieniawski’s ’’Souvenir do Moscow" was well played, and a "Gipsy danse” (Nachez) was popular. Miss Anna Lubowski accompanied her brother, and the piano accompaniments- to the Paganini concerto, excelled, as she had done in her accompaniment to the Mendelssohn opus. At the close of the young violinist’s programme, tho Lubowski orchestra played lighter music, and Miss Lubowski played beautifully one of Chopin’s waltzes.
