BIG AIRSHIP BLOWN OUT TO SEA
SAFE RETURN TO HER BASE.
London, January 28.
The airship R 34, after a bad landing on tho Yorkshire coast, in. which 'her engines and propellers were damaged, was blown out to sea and came down afloat. The Admiralty announced that sho was in no danger of sinking, and destroyers raced to the rescue. Later the Admiralty reported that R 34 returned to her base at low speed. Sho was over Tunstall at 10 o’clock this morning.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

. The • airship reached the aerodrome at Howden, but owing to her crippled condition bumped several .times in landing, and tho crew were compelled to jump ten feet to the earth. The airship was moored for tho night, as it was im]x>ssible to house her, but a gale arose and it became impossible to keep her under control. The envelope collapsed and the ship sank to the ground a mass of wreckage.—Aus.-N.Z. Gable Assn.
