The following are the acceptances for the second day of the AVelliugton Racing Club's Summer Meeting:— MUNGAROA JUMPERS’ FLAT HANDICAP, of 350 sovs. One mile and a half.

ACCEPTANCES REVIEWED. The acceptances for the second day’s racing at Trentham are surprisingly good, and big fields are engaged in all tho handicap events. The distance of the Jumpers’ Flat Handicap is half a mile further than on the opening day. Pacific Slope won so well on Thursday that a rise of 111 b. should not stop him to-day. Zola did not run up to liis best form on Thursday, and may do better to-day. There is a field of twenty in the January Welter Handicap. Pente, who had a lot of bad luck in running on the opening day, may be favourite today, should she start in this event, and there will be .plenty of supporters for Rose Wreath. The extra poundage may stop Sycorax, who is not a big one. Will Oakland will be all the better for his race, and he and Miss Mimic should be prominqiit at the finish. . Pluto, Quest, and Creme de Menthe may be the public fancies in the Fitzherbert Handicap, and Gloaming will have plenty of supporters in the Kelburn Plate. Maioha, Eleus, and First Salute, the place-getters in ■ the Cup, are again engaged in tho big event, and they look like taking a part in the finish. They meet on practically the same terms as when they finished" in a line, and with Maioha suited by the shorter' distance, he may again beat the other pair. Lovematch," Red Ribbon, and Rente all appear likely to run well up, and it would be no surprise if the last-mentioned were to run up to her breeding as a full-sister to Karo should. • k The Douro Cup is a much discussed event, and several of the runners are possibilities. Foo Chow ran second to Strategy in a fast-run seven furlongs, which made n score of five seconds to him. Hj may do better to-day. Battle Knight should improve a lot if the. rain falls sufficiently to soften the ground. Malaga ran badly on the first day, but his form was not right. Warplane, runner-up to Statuette in the Telegraph Handicap, was sore after the racebut if his trainer can produce him to-day he may go out favourite in the Metropolitan Handicap. Parisian Diamond is another that will have a big following. Strategy is in two races, but he will most probably be reserved for the Camp Handicap. He, Counter Stroke, and Egotism all appear to be runners with chances. * In the Ruapehu Handicap on Thursday Hepta was placed third by the judge, but this position was later on given to Automoana. , ACCEPTANCES FOR TAKAPUNA.
