DEMPSEY-CARPENTIER BOUT CANCELLED. (Rec. January 21, 5.5 p.m.) New York, January 19. Brady, the fight promoter, has confirmed the announcement made by "New York Times” that the- DempseyCarpentier bout has been cancelled. He declared that under the original contract relations were dissolved since Carpentier and Dempsey had not deposited the guarantee sum- Carpentier was unable to transfer 50,000 dollars in gold from France owing to the Government prohibition. Brady added that himself and Cochran were dissociated completely from the present arrangement. Any bout between Dempsey and Carpentier would only be possible under a new contract — Aus.-N'.Z. Cable Assn.
