HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE

NARROW ESCAPE OF INMATES. By Telegraph—Press Association Wanganui, January 18. A six-roomed house owned and occupied by Mrs. King, Gonville, was totally destroyed, together with the contents, by fire this morning. The inmates had a very narrow escape. The insurances are not known. One fireman was badly iburnt about the hands. A CITY CALL. The Fire Brigade received a call at 2.40 yesterday afternoon to a seven-room-ed two-story house in Frederick Street, occupied by James Phillips. Only slight damage was done. The cause of the fire was a lighted match being thrown on some clothing. Be prepared. Insure with The Insurance Office of Australia (The "1.0. A. All claims settled without vexatious delay.
