Dr. Oswald Flamm, Professor of Marine Architecture at Charlottenburg, claims to have discovered a new principle of stability, which permits the construction of” armoured submarines of the size of dreadnoughts, with no fear of them capsizing. They are capable of most rapid submersion, and a much higher speed, and a greater radius than the existing types. He has completed plans for a 5000-tdn cruiser, with a speed of twenty-five knots, and is designing a 10,000-ton vessel- Krupp’s and Siemen’s firms are interesting themselves in the invention, whieli has been patented throughout the world.—“ The Times.”
