PORTION OF CARGO DAMAGED

Sydney, January 15. A cab’e message han been received stating that the steamer - Sussex, bound to New Zealand and Australia, is ashore at Colon, and that 1460 tons of her.cargo in a*damaged condition has been discharged.—Press Assn.

VESSEL REFLOATED

The New Zealand Shipping Company lias received advice that the Sussex grounded' on the breakwater at Christabel on January'3, but was refloated eight days later.

[The Sussex left St. John on December 24 for New Zealand and Australian ports. She is a steliraer of 6930 tons, and was built for the Federal Line in 1960 by Hawthorn, Leslie and Co., Ltd., of Newcastle. The Sussex was due at Auckland on February 4.]
