MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

1 MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Makara. County Council was held yesterday morning, Councillor S. Bryant (chairman) presiding. There were also present Councillors E. Windley, L. D. Nairn, S. 8. Styles, H. J. Umaglan, and S. Bowler. A letter voas received from the Internal Affairs Department advising that a commission, consisting of Messrs. W. G. Riddell, G. H, M. M'Clure, and F. W. Martin, had bean set up to report respecting the proposed alteration of boundaries of the borough and the city of Wellington. A number of Karori resirents have petitioned to have that part of Karori near and on both sides of the Makara Hill excluded from the city and included in the Makara County. The commission will sit on January 26. It waa decided to revoke all permits granted for permission to erect fences on roads, a* new conditions have now been adopted.
