ANNIVERSARY DAY. REGATTA.
Arrangements for Anniversary Day regatta are nearly complete. The programme is advertised on another page, and an excellent programme of sailing and motor events has been arranged. The course has been devised to tc»i the sailing qualities of the yachts, as, well us to give the public a splendid opportunity to view the craft in racing trim. AH entrants in each event start together off the Clyde Quay wharf. will then sail to the mark moored on Somes Rock, just below the Somes Jsland light house. From there they go to the pile light off Seatoun, and re'.’urn to the starting-line, keeping outside the Jerningham buoy on both outward and inward passages. The marks are taken in this order in a southerly, and in the reverse order in a northerly .. >*id. The course for the small boats will be from off Clyde Quay wharf round Jerningham buoy, to a maiked buoy in ,’he most northerly position in Kaiwarra Bight, and back to a line between Clyde Quay wharf and the south end of Queen’s Wharf. The course of the launches will be from Clyde Quav wharf to Somes R<ick mark, and return, keeping 'inside Jerningham buoy both on the outward and inward passages. Races for the first-class and. secondclass yachts and small sailing boats (have been arranged for the morning, and general handicaps for keey and ccm'reboard yachts—as well as launches —in the afternoon. Numerous entries are reaching the secretnry at the Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s premises at the Boat Harbour, and a most interesting day is anticipated.
