BILLETS FOR REACTIONARY OFFICER ESTIMATES REFERRED BACE TO COMMITTEE By Telegraph—Frees Association-Copyright Berlin, January 13In the Prussian Assembly, Herr Lud wig, an Independent member, criticiset an item in the Estimates of 1000 millioi marks for the upkeep of the militar; police. The force, he declared, was com posed of old army officers and men wht retained the old spirit. Huge sums welt spent to create billets for reactionary officers, and there was actually an office: to every twenty-four men. Herr Hoffmai declared that the defence troops consti tuted the new army, which could b< directed against Germans or a foreigr Power. The Estimates were thereupon referrec back to Committee.—Reuter.
