The "Freiheit” publishes a treaty made between the German Foreign Office and (Sir) Roger Casement iii December, 1914, providing that the German Government should form an Irish brigade, composed of prisoners of war of-Irish decent, to wear the Irish uniform and fight exclusively undei- the Irish flag. The officers were temporarily to be Germans, and later Irishmen, from America. After a German naval victory, an attempt would be made to land on the coast of Ireland, and, if unable to disembark, the brigade would be used to attack the Suez Canal. Germany undertook, after peace was concluded, to assist the members to America, or alternately would give the Utmost aid in support of the Irish Government if one was formed.
