The Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, is expected to return to Wellington to-day.
Tho Hon. G. J- Anderson, Minister of Internal Affairs, will visit Marlborough next week, to consider proposals for river protective works in thau district. Mr. Charles R. Stuart, who has been secretary of the • New Zealand Investment, Mortgage and Deposit Company, Ltd from its commencement fourteen rear's ago, has resigned his position as from April 1 next, and is entering into partnership with the firm of Messrs. Henry Kember and Son, public accountants and auditors.
Mr George Swan, of Wanganui, who has been on a health-recruiting visit to Honolulu, has returned. He left Wellington for Wanganui per car yesterday morning.
A®Press Association from Auckland states that Mjl. U . C. of tho firm of Messrs. Russell and Somers, well-known shipping agents, died last night.
