THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale northwards of Kawhia and East Cape, and increasing northerlies elsewhere, backing to southerlies shortly. Heavy rain may be expected in the northern districts and unsettled, cloudy, misty conditions elsewhere, with rain following generally. The barometer is likely to fall further everywhere, but rise in the south after about 16 hours. Northerly breezes’ and sultry and hjjjy conditions have rul.ed with decreasing atmospheric pressure. Storm ureas which have hitherto neutralised each other are in evidence* north and south of the Dominion. D. C. BATES, Director. Meteorological Office, Wellington, January 12, 1921.
