Sydenham, in the first innings, made 137 (Taylor 35, Hincksmuii 37). Gilmer took three wickets for runs Ongley four ior 45, Kev. Blaimies one for 19. Ongley disposed of four batsmen in onn over, but missed the hat trick." Tl-e Nomads replied With ,228 (Arkwright 33, Banks 17, Collins 11, Cave 52, Bemau 33, Gilmer 23). ST. THOMAS'S TEAM ON TOUR, During the Christmas holidays the St. Thomas's third grade team journeyed across to Nelson and played two very pleasant games against two Nelson teams. The first match was played on Christmas afternoon against the Ivamura Club, and resulted in ft win for St. Thomas's by nine wickets and 10 runs. Kaniura batted first, and made 74 runs, of which Sturgeon contributed 33. St. first innings realised 48 (Fisher 17, Lee II not out). In the second innings Kamura did not do so well, being all out for 38 (Sturgeon 13, Barton IS). Requiring 04. runs to win, St. Thomas's in their second innings made 74 for the loss of one wicket (E. Fisher .50 not out, Honrno 11 not out being the chief scorers). Howling for St. Thomas'?, Hearnc took five wickets for two runs, Turner eight for 37, Lawrence five for 34, and Bradshaw two for 25, and for Ivamura 'l'homason took seven for 53 runs. The second game was played on Eoxinc Dnv against the Nelson junior representatives. St. Thomas's, batting first, made 85 .(Pudney 20, Fisher 16, Lawrence 10, .Turvey 11). Nelson's first innings realised 24. In the second innings bt. Thomas's made 108 (Turvey 45, I'lslu* 15 Bradshaw 13, Lawrence not out 14. In their second innings Nelson made 44. thus leaving St. Thomas's winners by I*> runs. Bowling for St. Thomas s, Bradshaw took six wickets for 1° Tims, Turvey six for 12, Lawrence six for 20, and for Nelson, Thomason eight for 45 and R. Guy three for 21, did best.
