The Canadian Government's steamer Canadian Winner left Vancouver on December 17 for Sydney, Melbourne,' mid Auckland. She ia due at Auckland about February 1J and on completion of discharco there will load for Vancouver.

Khind and Co., contractors lor the Diamond Harbour ferry service, bavo purchased from Mr. Northing, of Wellington, the-launch Hikorl, which they Intend to use on the ferry and other harbour and peninsula, work. The vessel Is- a' motor cruiser, 42ft. lons, with a beam of 9ft. 61n., and is driven by a <0-hnrse-power l'ourcylln'der Daimler engine. Her Bpced is ten knots. The vessel was built In Auckland nine years aeo. She was encased for so'mo vears in the Auckland harbour trade, carryintt passengers and malls.
