According to official statistics issued on Dccemlier 2d regarding movements, in tho rat* of food and groceries (16 commodities) throughout tho Commonwealth tlisro was during November a general decrease of 2.8 per cent. Decreases wcro shown in all tho States, the greatest (4.6 per cent.) being in Western Australia, followed by Queensland (4.4 per cent.), Tasmania (4.0 per cent.), Victoria (2.9 per cent.), South Australia (2.7 per cent.), and New South Wales (1.7 per cent.). Compared with tho corresponding month of 1919, however, increases are shown in all States. Tho greatest occurred in Victoria (25.5 per cent.), followed! in the ordor named by Tasmania (21.0 per cent.), South Australia (21.3 per cent.), New South Wales (15.1 per cent.), Western Australia (U.li por cent.), and Queensland (3.9 por cent.). The weighted averago index number for. tlia ,10 towns considered as a whole was 2170 in November, 1020, compared with 1839 in November, 1919, au of 18.0 per cent.
