FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE SETTLED
1 __ . BONUS TO BEPAID. The freezing works dispute has beea settled, agreement having: been reached between the Federation of Preening Works Employees and the freezing companies on the basis of the payment of a bonus of 25 per cent, to hourly and weekly workers, and of 20 per cent, to piece workers on tho 1919 award rate on all time, including overtime. The bonus is to be retrospective ns from November. 1 last. ,■? , JUMP FROM RAILWAY TRAIN ——♦• —;— THE DEATH OF MR. A. W. FEIST. By Teleftraph—Prom a Morrinsville, December 28. An inquiry was hold to-day touching the death of Alfred AYilliam Feist, aged 32, and married, a well-known storekeeper at Lower Hutt, who jumped from a railway carriage window while on hii way to 'L'e Aroha for medical treatment on December 23, and was killed.. Evidence was given that two months ago deceased suffered a norvous breakdown as the result of overwork and worry. He had worried ovor business affairs, and had been ordered away for a holiday by his doctor. On tho way to To Aroha he was accompanied by his wife, mother, and sister. Ho tried'to leave the train several times after entraining at Hamilton. After leaving Morrinsville Station he disappeared through a window His nook and the b:u;o of his skull were broken. A verdict was returned that death was caused by a fall while suffering from depression, and temporarily insane. Deceased leaves a widow and ■ three children.
