MAGISTRATE'S COURT
POLICE AND CIVIL CASES. Mr. E. Page, S.M., dealt with the police cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Samuel Venton, a greaser, and Henry Day, fireman, were each fined 20s. ,in default foriy-eight hour.;' imprisonment, for using threatening bohaviour in Lambton Quay whereby a breach of the poace was occasioned. For'drunkenness Miriam Patricia Seeker and Henrick Hanson were cach fined 10s. _ t William Henry Grant (for whom Mr. C. A. L. Tread well appeared) pleaded guilty to the : theft at Miramar of. one wallet and in money, the pruper'.y of Charles S. Allen. The latter, a carponter, was at work at Miramar, and tho accused, who knew Allen, went out to see him. During tho temporary absence of the complaiiuit ihe accused searched the room, and made away with, tho goods. Grant electcd to be dealt with summarily, and was sentenced to twelve months' reformative .treatment.
