A devico for relining brake,s on cars has been placcd on the market by a Detroit manufacturer of automobile accessories. Tho brake limns ;ind band are firmly clamped on a circular mandrel. The mandrel is turned until the rivet bole in tho band conies to an upright position, then a split-rivet is driven in with a hammer blow and the rivet is clLrched against the mandrel, 'this operation is reneated till all the rivets arc in place. Using this device prevents the lining from wrinkling or drawing tho linintr between tho. rivets. It is alio possible to secure a perfect adjnstmerit of the brakes at the timo of replacement,
