INCREASE'S..'GRANTED IN SYDNEY. Sydney, December 17. The oil companies, seeking to increase their prices, lixed by the Commodities Commission, iihrcatcnfxl to cease importations unless their'claims were granted. Judge lioiin, severely criticising the application, stated that the companies had the lvhip-lmnd, and could do- what they liked. It would be inadvisable, to jeopardise tho continuity of supplies. The following increases were granted:—Benzine from 30s, to 325. a case wholesale, and 3is. retail ; kerosene 21s.'Gd. to 225. wholesale, and 235. 6d. retail.—Press Assn.
