Pigs were sent forward in particularly large numbers, and the supply proved more than sufficient for requirements. The quality on tho whole was oxeollent, and butchers were eager to secure supplies for tho Christmas trade. Prices for lambs showed a reduction of about 2s. compared with last week's oxtreme rates, while sheep, on tho other hand, showed an advance of from Is. to 2s. a. head.. Sheep.—A' good yarding, numbering 2018 head. . The offering comprised mostly shorn sheep, nnd.it was one of tho best ynrdings as far as quality was concerned this srason. Competition for good quality sheep showed an improvement on Inst week's sale, while prices for prime sheep showed an advance. Inferior sheep wero sold at a slight reduction. Extra prim,« heavy-weight shorn wethers realised up to 645„ and prime ewes from 38s. to 40s.

Lambs.—The largest ynrdinjr this &raboii, numbering SBC head of Rood quality. Competition was keen and a satisfactory pal.j resultod. Best lambs sold at up to 3Ss. fld.

Fat Cattle.—A large yarding, a total of 204 head beinp offered for sale. Many of thn pons contained animals of excellent nuality.'suitablc for the Christmas trade. Tho sale opened at prices about equal to Inst week's rates, but had advanced fully .£1 per head before the close of the sale. Prime bullocks sold at from -£23 to .£29; pood bullocks, .£lB to J223; lishter sorts, from ,£ls; pTimo hcifcrs, £U to medium, .£9 to .£l2. Storo Cattle.—A larpo yardmp; of med-ium-sized cattle was offered. Competition was fair and prices were inclined to bo easier. A few pons of 2-ycar-old entile wero passed in unsold. Best baconers realised from 10d. to lid. per lb., and best porkers from 10d. to lid. por lb.
