Thfl Director of the horticulture Division has received from tho apiary instructors the following reports concerning the honey crop prospects:— ' Auckland.—The prospects for a'good season seem" exceptionally bright no i'nr. lhe whita clover .is blooming freely, and tho occasional showers we 'are getting will prolong.the period of flowering. (Jw}n? 'to the stormy weather 'experienced m- the spring the titr.se has not yielded up much as usual. '
Wellington.—The erratic climatic conditions experienced have been responsible for delaying brood rearing very considerably, and as a consequence colonies are, generally speaking, not In tho best of condition to meet the coming honey How. Plant growth, however, is phenomenal for this period, and this will undoubtedly have a very beneficial effect on' the surplus honey crop. Christchurch and Dunedin.—There is every- indication of tho present season being abovo. the average. Excellent rains have fallen-and the clover pastures aro in good heart. Altogether the spring has not been favourable to nectar secretion, and wherfi sufficient stores wore not left for wintering, extensive feeding has hml to be carried out to keep.«the stocks breeding. Nectar is now being stored, and it is'anticipated that a good surplus will be secured.. Bulk lines: None offering. Sections are scarce.' Bfeswax is in 6trong demand. Prices are' firm. In bush districts a'gnrplus is assured.
