$ . HUSBAND'S PETITION DISMISSED. Sydney, Decembor 7. The petition by W. A. S. Cross for restitution nf conjugal rights, heard in October, has been dismissed.—Proaj Assn. ftn the Sydney Divorce Court on" October 25, Wilham Alfred Josoph Cross sought restitution of conjugal rights from Elizabeth Eleanor Cross. Petitioner, who was twico at the war, and won a D".C.M., gave evidence that he had been a lay-reader, and eventually became ordained. Differences arose through his wife being a Catholic and he an Anglican. He had given her no cause for refusing to live with him, but he admitted that under extreme provocation ho had struck hor. Respondeat, in her evidence, said that at one time they lived in Duncdin, whoro her husband acted as lay-reader and was subsequently ordained. From New Zealand they came to Sydney. Sho said her husband frequently left her without money or food nnd on many occasions cruelly treated her. However, she was willing.to again live with her husband if ho treated her as a wife and not as a slave, and discontinued his ill-treatment. Judgment was reserved.]
