CRICKET IN WELLINGTON
e * MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET?. A. meeting of the commitlee of the Wellington Cricket Association was held last evening. Mr. M. F. Crombie presided, and there .were present: Messrs. R. S. Johnston (secretary), W. G. Hughes, B. L. Salmon, H. J. Buck, C. R, Edwards, and R. J. Murphy. The Public Schools Amateur Athletic Association having been granted tho use of the Basin Reserve for sports purooses to-morrow, there will be no practice cricket on tho reserve. It. was decided to write to tho City Council and the Schools Athletic Association pointing out that on Mondavs nnd Fridays the reserve was not used bv cricketers, and that in future 6ports gatherings should be fixed for one or other of those davs.
Tho recently formed Knrori Club was granted affiliation. The club is to enter a team for the third class competition. K. De Muth was at his own remiest classified as a sonior, and was permitted to transfer from the Marist Brothers' Club to Thorndon Club. The captain of the Thorndon Club having plaved Do Muth iu the senior match against the Hntt on Saturday, before De Muth had been granted a transfer from the Marist Brothers, is to be asked to explain bis action. Messrs. R. .1. Murphy ai"'. . 0. Hughes were appointed a permit committeo to deal .with applications for transfers. - Tho following have -notified their willingness to become honorary members of the association:—Messrs. J. A. Tripe, ,T. Duncan. M. Mvers. Alfred Smith. George Shirtcliffc. E. D. Bell, A. Dongall, IT. E. Burton. 'J'. J. Thurueau. 0. F. Stewart anil J. 13. Brinsden.
