The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hawcra, branch, report for week ending December 4:—On Monday, at Opnnnke, wc had n small yarding and competition was not keen {or any class of 6tock. We quote: Store cows, £5 2s. 6d. to £6 10s.; yearling heifers, to £4 95.; steers, £2 19s. to £3 12s. 6d.; yearling Shorthorn bull, £8 10s.; springing hoiferß, £10 to £13. At Manaia. on Tuesday wc had a small yarding. Prices at late rates.' On Friday, at Palmer Hoad, we had only a fair yarding. Tie whole of the store cattle were sold under tho hammer at late rateii. Dairy cattle were very hard to quit. Wo quote:—Forward cows, £9 to £10 Is.; fresh conditioned ditto, £7 7s. to £8; others at market value; Jersey omptv hoiferß, £10 12s. 6d.; others, £5 155.;-bulls, to £8 55.; springing cows, £13 2s. 6d.: fat woolly hoggets, 235. 6d. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report:—At Palmcrston North, on December 2, we had a moderate yarding of cattle, but no sheep. Wo quote: Cows, In milk. £7, £7 10s. to £8 10s. At Feildins, on December 3, there was a small yarding of both sheep and.cattle. We quote: Fat ewes to 255.; dairy cows, £7, £8 ss. to £9; springing heifers; £9 10s., £10 !ss„ to £16; store cows, £3 2s. 6d. to £4 2s. 6d.; forward cows, £7 ss. to £7 10s.; fat ewes, to £10; bulls. £5 7s. 6d. to £7 155.: 2S-year steers, to £7; 20-montli steers, £3 12s. 6d. to £5 19fl. 6d.
