TWO INQUESTS

Two inquests were held yesterday by Mr. W. G. Riddcll, S.M. The first was in respect to Kate Jennings of ChrisWhurch, who died suddcnTv in the tramway shelter shed in Post Office Square on Saturday mornine Tho evidence showed that deceased haci suffered from heart trouble, and had been attended by a doctor in Chnstehurch.' She arrived by the terry etoamer Maori on Satutdhy morning, and walked to the shelter dhod, where she died. Tho coroner found that death was due'to heart failure. Tho second inquest was on the body ol a nran found in tho harbour near the Queen's Wharf on Saturday morning. Tho body was decomposed, showing that it had been in the water for some days. The police ovidenco was to the effect that the deceased was probably a fireman on tho Leitrim, which sailed for New Tork and Boston on November 20. It was suggested that his name was Felix Murphy. No one was able to identify tho body, so' tho coroner found thnt it was that of an unknown man, and there was no evidenco to show how ho got into tlie water.
