CITY LOAN
VARYING THE TERMS. The Finance Committee, of the Citr Council met yesterday afturnooii, and: amongst other-things discussed the proposal to vary the terms on which tho latest loan (for .£250.000) will be offered to the investing public. What terms it is now proposed to oiTcr n.a not divulged, but the committee will make a recommendation, and will leave it to the council as a whole to docilo what is best to b« done. The committeo wishes to act as promptly as possible to avoid delaying the putting in hand of essential works.
