FINE EXHIBITION 01? EOSES. There are some enthusiastic cottago rardeners at Hntaitai, ajul the results fere Sn in the annual Horticultural Society's show on Saturday, in the Hataitai "schoolroom. The weather recently has not favoured rosarians, nevertheless there was a very fine display ot the queen ot flowers, the champion rcse, l'rau Aarl Druschki," also, known as Snow Queen" and "Nurse t'avell,' e-hibit-cd by Mr. J- Bell, -being n very creditable specimen. The children had sometime collections of grasses, leaves, and native shrubs. The decorated tables were extremely fine, the colour'schemes displaying fino artistic taste. In the domestic class the competition was keen and the exhibits were above the average Iho prize-list is as follows:Pot plants-Mrs. Bell, three firsts; Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Wilson, a lu-sc prize each; and -Mrs. Gaudin and Mrs. Wihon, second lii-izea. Mrs! Watts. Airs. A. N. Burt,. and Mrs. Hooper also secured first prizes in this section. ■ i ■■_ Eoses—First prizes were secured by Mr. J. Bell (3), Mr. K. „W. Portcous (3), Mr. G. Lantahcar, Mrs. Kline, Mrs. Hughes, Joyce Low, and R. M. Porteous one each. Cut flowers—Mrs. Campbell, three firsts and one second; Miss Kline, three firsts' and one second; Mrs. Bailey, two firsts nnd one second; Mrs., W. Wilson, two firsts; Mr. G. Jeffery, one first; Mrs.. Kitching, four seconds; Mrs. Tinuey and Miss Huggins, each ono second. Decorative . Class—Mrs. Ward secured four firsts and one second, Mrs. Fortune one first and two seconds; Miss Lisard, one first: and Mrs.'Barnctt, one second. Vegetables-Mrs. Foil, five firsts; Mrs. Bailer, three firsts and ono second; Mr. Dowling, one first and two seconds; Mr. E. M. Porteous, one first; Mr. Mareh.niit, two seconds; and Messrs. B. B. Lankshear and A. M. Wilson, one suennd each. Domestic—Mrs. Caldow, six firsts and five seconds; Mrs. Bayfield, five firsts and ono second; Mrs. W. Wilson, two firsts; Mrs. G'oldie, ono first and six seconds; Mrs. Bowden, one first and tlhree seconds; Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Earnett. each ono first and ono second; Mrs. Hooper and Mrs. Arcus, each one first; Mrs. A. K. Lankshear, one second; Eileen Searle. two firsts. Children's exhibits-Dennis Chambers, five firsts and one second; Eileen Searle, one first and two seconds; and M. M'Kenzie.
